The Way to a Man's Heart: Sauteed Apples over Vanilla Ice Cream

Oh man! This looks GOOD! I am going to make sauteed apples this weekend and serve them over vanilla ice cream. Big D is going to love it. He's on call today/tonight. I try to do something nice for him when he gets home the next day, even if is picking up a package of strawberry Pop Tarts or doing some of his chores. So Sunday night after dinner, he's gonna get sauteed apples and ice cream. Hope it tastes as good as it sounds.

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup butter
4 large tart apples - peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS
In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add apples. Cook, stirring constantly, until apples are almost tender, about 6 to 7 minutes.
Dissolve cornstarch in water; add to skillet.
Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon.
Boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve warm.

I make these for Walter and they're always a big hit. Hope Big D enjoys his treat!
